Beast Academy Grade 1

Beast Academy 1A includes over 400 problems ranging from introductory level exercises to very challenging puzzles and word problems to reinforce the lessons in the Guide. Beast Academy 1A covers the following topics:
Counting: Keeping track, recognizing small amounts (subitizing), grouping, ten frames, hundreds charts.
Shapes: Names and properties, rotations and reflections, combinations and dissections, polyominoes.
Comparing: Equal amounts, matching (correspondence), symbols (=, <, and >), ordering within 100, comparing length and distance.

Beast Academy 1B includes over 600 problems ranging from introductory level exercises to very challenging puzzles and word problems to reinforce the lessons in the Guide. Beast Academy 1B covers the following topics:
Addition: Symbols (+ and =), writing addition, finding a missing addend, pairs with the same sum (number bonds), adding more than two numbers, making ten, order (commutativity), and counting up.
Subtraction: Taking away, subtracting 10, counting down, the relationship between addition and subtraction, finding a difference, ordering, and strategies.
Categories: Properties, finding similarities and differences, which doesn’t belong, categories of numbers (odds, evens, squares, and primes), Venn diagrams.

Beast Academy 1C includes nearly 600 problems ranging from introductory level exercises to very challenging puzzles and word problems to reinforce the lessons in the Guide. Beast Academy 1C covers the following topics:
Addition & Subtraction: Strategies review, using the number line, distance on the number line, adding and subtracting tens, adding by place value.
Comparing: Ordering numbers using place value, comparing expressions, finding sums and differences that are equal, compensation strategies.
Patterns: Completing patterns that use shapes and numbers, skip-counting, and special patterns including the Fibonacci sequence, perfect squares, and triangular numbers.

Beast Academy 1D includes over 400 problems ranging from introductory level exercises to very challenging puzzles and word problems to reinforce the lessons in the Guide. Beast Academy 1D covers the following topics:
Big Numbers: Reading and writing numbers from 100 to 999, counting by tens, block models of place value, regrouping, and expanded form.
Measurement: Comparing lengths, using units, using a ruler, units of time, and reading analog and digital clocks.
Problem Solving: Understanding directions, describing position, rows and columns, and recognizing order.

Beast Academy Puzzles 1 contains over 500 puzzles in 12 different styles that will delight puzzle solvers ages 7 and up. It can be used by itself or as a supplement to the full Beast Academy level 1 curriculum. The puzzles in this book are accessible to anyone with a solid understanding of numbers within 100 including basic addition, subtraction, and comparison skills as taught in the Beast Academy level 1 series. The difficulty ranges from straightforward starters to diabolical stumpers written by national puzzle team competitor Anderson Wang.
