In this workshop, students will focus on the fundamentals of writing. The course will use the book Write Source for guidance. Students will master the writing process of brainstorming, outlining and organizing, and composing a 5 paragraph essay. At the end of the course, students will be confident in their ability to write an introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Students will focus on skills such as sentence variety, transitions, and word choice.
This course will be best for eager students who struggle to get a B or higher on writing assignments, students who struggle to understand the teachers’ suggestions, or language learners who are new to the writing process in American schools. Classes will be grouped together by skill level as best as possible.
