In this workshop, students will focus on mastering the fundamentals of writing for middle school success. Students will practice the 5-paragraph essay structure, the writing process from brainstorming, organizing, and composing. We will also discuss how grammar concepts like sentence variety can enhance and effect writing. At the end of the course, students will be confident in their ability to compose a 5-paragraph essay at a middle school level.
This course will be best for eager students who struggle to get a B or higher on writing assignments, students who struggle to understand the teachers’ suggestions, or language learners who are new to the writing process in American schools. Classes will be grouped together by skill level as best as possible.
